Pretend EP Review at Beat Surrender PDF Print E-mail

Beat Surrender Magazine Review

Steph Fraser - Pretend EP

‘The UK’s no.1 female singer songwriter’ screams Steph Fraser’s website, quite a bold statement, nothing wrong with having a bit of self belief you might say but you’ve also got to have the talent to back such claims up without looking a tad silly.

Thankfully no danger of that here.

The latest release from Steph Fraser is a three track (four if you count the bonus track – Tea) EP recorded and mastered partly in England and partly in Canada, where Steph has already appeared as part of Canadian music week, twice. Fragile vocals combine with laid back acoustica to create a shimmering, chilled out collection of songs with hints of Eva Cassidy and Amy Mcdonald.

The UK’s no.1 female singer songwriter? maybe not yet, but at 15 years old she’s got plenty of time to fulfill some exceptional early potential.
